Futurebiotics uses specially bred strains of dairy-free bacteria, dried by a unique process in which the delicate cell membranes are elasticized prior to freeze drying. This keeps the cells from bursting or weakening during the drying process. (This weakening is a one of the chief causes of premature potency loss.) Normal body temperature alone does not activate properly dried lactobacilli, it is a combination of heat and moisture. This is why we are so careful to formulate our products to exceptionally low moisture standards. Outside North America, Lactobacillus rhamnosus is even more highly regarded than lactobacillus acidophilus to help replace healthy flora in the body.
